Dr. Michael Pennotti
Stevens Institute of Technology
Michael Pennotti is a Distinguished Service Professor in the School of Systems and Enterprises at Stevens Institute of Technology. As a founding member of the systems engineering program at Stevens, he helped shape its evolution into one of the largest and most diverse such program in the country. Dr. Pennotti teaches Fundamentals of Systems Engineering and System Architecture and Design and supervises the SE capstone Master’s projects. In addition he has helped develop and deliver innovative programs in technical leadership for early career engineers, for mid-career engineering leaders, and for senior technical leaders in both industry and government.
Dr. Pennotti honed his systems engineering skills as a practitioner and leader at Bell Laboratories, where for twenty years he designed and improved the operational performance of four generations of undersea surveillance systems for the U.S. Navy. He then spent ten years applying the same principles and practices to enterprise systems, helping AT&T and its derivative companies build and improve comprehensive management systems that helped them implement and achieve their business strategies.
Dr. Pennotti is an INCOSE Fellow and a Senior Member of both the IEEE and the American Society for Quality. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York, a BEE from Manhattan College, and is a graduate of the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute for Technology Executives.
