Dr. Valerie Sitterle
Chief Scientist, Systems Engineering Research Division, Electronic Systems Laboratory, Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI)
Principal Research Engineer, Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI)
Georgia Institute of Technology
Dr. Valerie Sitterle is a SERC Research Council member providing guidance, with a focus in the Trusted Systems research area. Dr. Sitterle is also a Principal Research Engineer at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), where her technical work synthesizes systems science, complex systems, and defense analysis. She is an expert in engineering science, integrating engineering, natural, and physical sciences leading to the design and analysis of systems, particularly to address challenges faced by the US Department of Defense (DoD). Her primary areas of focus are in the modeling and analysis of complex influences affecting early stage design assessment and the integration of DoD operational needs with systems sciences across multiple domains for evaluation of systems and employment concepts in theater. Dr. Sitterle is also the Chief Scientist for the Systems Engineering Research Division within the Electronic Systems Laboratory in GTRI, which encompasses research across systems engineering (SE) in support of emerging capabilities and roadmapping development for defense systems, Human Systems and of Manned-Unmanned Teaming, Model-Based Systems Engineering, and method development for computational system science across these domains.
