Dr. Pinar Ozturk

Pinar Ozturk is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems Management in the Palumbo Donahue School of Business at Duquesne University. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Stevens Institute of Technology, an MBA and an M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from University of Hartford, CT. At Duquesne, she teaches the information systems introductory core courses, Business Information Systems and Data for Decision Making.
Her research interests include computer-supported cooperative work, crowdsourcing and online collaborations. Specifically, she focuses on understanding origins and dynamics of collective group behavior on mass collaboration systems and social media platforms. Her works have been published in Journal of Computer Information Systems, Health Policy and Technology journal and leading Information Systems conferences including International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS). In 2017 her research won the best dissertation award from Stevens School of Business and the best paper honorable mention award at the Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing (CSCW 2017) conference.
