Mark A. Austin is an Associate Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Institute for Systems Research within the University of Maryland. He holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (1985), his M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (1982) and his B.E. (First Class Honors) from University of Canterbury, New Zealand (1980).
Chairman, Applications Forum Working Group, International Council of Systems Engineering. Member, American Society of Civil Engineers. Member, Association of Computing Machinery. Member, New Zealand Society of Earthquake Engineering.
