
Dr. Hady Salloum
Stevens Institute of Technology
Dr. Salloum joined Stevens Institute of Technology in 2006 as Director of Technology Applications. He is responsible for all research and outreach activities and leading multidisciplinary research programs. These include Maritime Security, Border Security, and Information Assurance Programs. Dr. Salloum has about 30 years of experience in maritime security, information assurance, network technology and operations, line and program management, and business development. He has substantial technical breadth and depth in telecommunications and broadband access and exceptional strength in program management, negotiation skills, customer interaction, communications skills, and setting and implementing business strategies.
Prior to Stevens, Dr. Salloum spent 20 years at Bell Communications Research/ Telcordia Technologies (now Ericsson), where he had many positions ranging from Member of the Technical Staff to Vice President. Early in his career at Bell, he developed Systems Requirements for Broadband Access Technologies, including Fiber to the Premises, DSL, and Wi-Max and published over 100 papers in this area, mainly on fiber-to-the-home. He was also active in many national and international standards committees that were responsible for defining SONET/SDH and ATM. Dr. Salloum also developed system architectures and requirements for fiber to the home that are used today by service providers worldwide.
