SoSECIE: Battle Control System of Systems (SoS) Engineering Analysis
The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Systems Engineering (DASD(SE)) hosts the System of Systems Engineering Collaborators Information Exchange (SoSECIE) which is a web-based seminar series typically held once or twice a month from 11 am – Noon, Eastern Time. Members of the defense acquisition community from government, industry, and academia are invited to hear these free presentations on a wide range of relevant system of systems engineering topics. The topic for the seminar on July 11, 2017 is “Battle Control System of Systems (SoS) Engineering Analysis” and will be presented by Dr. Aleksandra Markina Khusid, The MITRE Corporation.

SERC TALKS: “How Do We Prepare the People Who Will Need to Manage the Real-time Responses to Cyber Attacks on Physical Systems?”
ABSTRACT: As part of an ongoing multi-year SERC Research Task led by University of Virginia, the research effort focuses on development of cyber attack resilience concepts for cyber-physical systems, an experimentally-based set of activities have been focused on exploring human factors issues. In particular, situations involving human operators have been simulated where cyber attacks have been detected by a dedicated monitoring sub-system (referred to as a Sentinel), and a system operator is alerted and provided with relevant system reconfiguration advisories.…
