When is the deadline to register for the 2020 SERC RESEARCH REVIEW
There is no deadline to register, however we kindly request all attendees to register 24 hours prior to ensure successful access to the virtual platform.
Technology Requirements
The virtual platform selected for this event will run most effectively on a computer via browser on Google Chrome. It is recommended that you use Google Chrome, and for government employees to disconnect from their VPN.
To ensure that your system is ready for the live event, perform the System Checker
Additional technology requirements:
• Use the recommended browser (Chrome). Make sure that your browser is the latest version
• Refresh your page
• Clear your cache
• Access the page in an incognito window
• Restart your device
• Check your internet connection / speed (it should be at least 5mbs)
• Enable the camera on your browser
• Enable the microphone on your browser
• Enable pop-ups in your browser
• Disable any firewalls (e.g malware, AVG)
Entering the Virtual Event
To get started you need to log in to the virtual event.

Preview the Agenda
Check out the schedule and mark your calendar for the events and sessions you want to attend to remain focused. Some attendees may want to consider marking themselves out of the office, much as they would during an in-person event to minimize distractions.
- After registration, you’ll be taken back to the event site, when you scroll below, you should see the list of sessions that you can join.
- Though this is not a required step, you can pre-select the sessions that you want to attend by clicking the “Register” button next to the session

Can I ask questions during the sessions?
We encourage you to ask questions at any time, using the Q&A Tab within each session.
Can I share my virtual conference login information with other members of my team?
No, your login information is unique to your individual registration. The questions asked and the chat shown to all attendees within that single login session are all tied to the account of the individual that registered for the virtual event.
Connect with Other Attendees
- One of the main reasons why people attend conferences is to connect with other people to expand their professional and social networks. With the SSRR Virtual platform, you can send private messages to other attendees and have one-on-one video meetings with people you meet in the virtual event!
- To start connecting with other Attendees, click the People tab from your virtual event hub. In the People tab you will see all the attendees. By clicking the Connect Button, this will send a request to be connected with the other attendee, once the request is approved, you can start video chatting with
- When the Connect button is clicked, it changes to “Sent”
- The other attendee should receive a notification badge on the bell icon after you click connect
- When the other attendee approves the connection by clicking Connect from the notification, the sent button disappears and is replaced by a video button and the other attendee is added to your My Connections tab
- When you are connected with another attendee, you can start a one-on-one video meeting with them by clicking the video button
- Note: You may only have a video meeting if your connection is approved or if a meeting appointment is approved
Chat with an Attendee
To chat with an attendee, you don’t need to be connected, you can send private messages to them by clicking the Chat Button.
- When the chat button is clicked, the existing chat on the right side updates to a private chat between you and the other attendee
- When you receive a reply from the other attendee, you should see a notification on the upper left side of the chat
Meeting Request with an Attendee
Clicking the Meet Button allows you to request and schedule a meeting with another attendee, when the meeting is accepted by the other attendee, you can start video chatting on the scheduled time and date.

- When the request is submitted, the other attendee should receive a notification
- When the other attendee accepts the meeting request, the appointment will be added to your
One on One Video Meeting
When a video call is initiated through the video button or start meeting button, it should prompt to allow microphone and camera access on the browser and to join the meeting. Click those buttons to start the meeting. The other attendee should see a pop-up to accept or decline the video call.

Should you have any technical issues while in the SSRR Virtual platform, click on the Exhibitors in the Lobby to click on INFO DESK to troubleshoot the issue and connect with live event staff to get technical assistance.
