About
Almost two decades after he and others blended a bold vision to establish SERC, Dr. Verma retains his enthusiasm for expanding systems engineering, ensuring acquisition innovation, and providing DoD sponsors with viable, practical, and implementable solutions resulting from applied research. Some of his enduring contributions include helping start the annual Conference on Systems Engineering Research; founding the first School of Systems and Enterprises in the United States (at Stevens Institute of Technology); and editing Systems Engineering for the Digital Age – Practitioner Perspectives, a handbook compiling the first 15 years of SERC research.
As executive director of SERC’s Acquisition Innovation Research Center, Dr. Verma maintains strong ties with the defense acquisition community, and he led SERC to co-found the international Archimedes Initiative. Connect on LinkedIn.
