As a national expert in acquisition policy and practice, especially involving public sector contracting, accountability, and innovation, Dr. Girth has produced several reports for SERC’s Acquisition Innovation Research Center, including on motivating workforce agility, identifying systemic pressures on the acquisition workforce that impede innovative behavior, and diagnosing behaviors and tailoring interventions for lasting transformation. She has also examined best practices in intellectual property management. Prior to joining academia, she worked in management consulting at BearingPoint, supporting large-scale projects at the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development, and she held policy roles in the Michigan state government.
