Propulsion Energy 2015
Monday, July 27, 2015 - Wednesday, July 29, 2015
“The country’s entire economic well-being is tied to innovation.” — Congressman Chaka Fattah
The AIAA Propulsion and Energy Forum and Exposition (AIAA Propulsion and Energy) integrates the Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit (JPC) with the International Energy Conversion Engineering Conference (IECEC) into an annual event that brings together technologists, developers, operators, program managers, chief engineers, and policy makers to address aerospace propulsion and energy issues and challenges.
Both JPC and IECEC have a long history and started as intersociety conferences. JPC has been supported by ASME, SAE, and ASEE. IECEC’s predecessor conference started in 1965 and was supported by AIAA (American Institute Of Aeronautics And Astronautics), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), SAE International, AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers), and the American Nuclear Society. AIAA became the sole organizer of IECEC in 2003. In 2009, AIAA started co-locating JPC and IECEC to leverage the synergies within propulsion and energy systems.
Propulsion and energy systems are at the very heart of aerospace, whether you are flying passengers to London or satellites to LEO. Every move forward in our exploration of the world, and the universe, is enabled by new technologies coming from the researchers and engineers who will assemble at the 2015 AIAA Propulsion and Energy Forum and Exposition (AIAA Propulsion and Energy 2015).
Plenary Program – Plenary Session examine some the most critical issues in propulsion and energy today including:
- Global Cooperation and Economic Development
- Cost and Affordability of Future Systems
- Technology Development and Trends in Propulsion and Energy
- What does the Future Propulsion and Energy Workforce Look Like?
Forum 360 – The Forum 360 panel discussions build on the themes and discussions of each day’s opening plenary session, adding a layer of content and context that enhances the value of your forum experience. These conversations with experts will cover a spectrum of timely topics including:
- Aircraft Electric Propulsion
- Government Investments Enabling Advancement of In-Space Propulsion
- Infrastructure
- Role of Bio-fuels in Future Aviation
- Work/Life Balance Challenges for the 21st Century
- The Media and the Engineering Profession
Technical Program – Technical conferences meeting as part of Propulsion and Energy 2015 include the 51st AIAA/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference and the 13th International Energy Conversion Engineering Conference. You won’t want to miss the latest research on 24 high-impact topics being presented in the 650 technical papers from 300 institutions in 28 countries.
