The 86th Military Operations Research Society Symposium (MORS) will be held on June 18 to June 21, 2018 in Monterey, CA at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). The 86th Symposium will include 500+ sessions taking place in 33 Working Groups, 7 Composite groups, Distributed Working Groups, Special Sessions, Demos, Tutorials and CEU Courses over the four day program.
Keynote Speaker: Retired Vice Admiral Ronald A. Route, President of the Naval Postgraduate School.
This year’s sessions will be conducted at the classified and unclassified clearance level with FOUO options. Corresponding portions of the Symposium are open to U.S. Citizens with or without a clearance and cleared “Five EYES” (FVEY) participants with some restrictions.
Call for Abstracts
All abstracts (limit 250 words) should be submitted through the MORS “Presenter Center” site at www.mors.org/Events/Presenter-Center Once you are on the site please follow the instructions provided. The abstract disclosure process will be included online during your abstract submission. The abstract MUST be Unclassified and Approved for Public Release; Distribution Unlimited.
The purpose of the Symposium is to stimulate communication and interaction between practitioners and users, foster an interest in, and development of quantitative analysis of national defense and national security. With that in mind, to present at the Symposium, a presenter simply needs the approved abstract, briefing slides, and distribution statement. If the presentation is deemed notable, you may be invited to compete for the Barchi Prize, at which time a written paper will be required. In addition, work in progress research may be presented at the Symposium. Discussion
of work in progress is an important part of the MORS working groups! This is a good opportunity to receive feedback from your peers regarding how your analysis is perceived and how it may be improved. In the past, the Air Force Institute of Technology and the Naval Postgraduate School have provided excellent papers built around interim results of a Master’s Thesis or Doctoral Dissertation efforts.
Procedures for Submitting Presentation Abstracts
In-Person Abstract Submissions — Abstracts for presentations offered to working groups should be of interest to a specific working group. Abstracts for presentations offered to composite groups should be broad and of interest to each of the working groups assigned to the composite group.
