SERC Doctoral Students Forum 2018
Wednesday, November 7, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The SERC Doctoral Students Forum (SDSF) provides an opportunity for doctoral students conducting highly relevant, systems engineering-related research at any of the SERC collaborating universities to present their research in an open forum. This half-day event drives high impact by exposing the attendees to research that they may not have otherwise encountered. Students can present regardless of whether or not the research was conducted through a SERC initiative.
To have been considered to present at the SERC Doctoral Students Forum, as well as for the Best Student Paper Award, a faculty member from one of the SERC Collaborating Universities nominated a doctoral student via the SERC Doctoral Student Presentation Nomination Form by Friday, August 24, 2018. Completed forms were submitted to Tom McDermott, SERC Deputy Director. The Best Student Paper is awarded on the basis of potential impact, advancement to systems engineering, originality, technical content, and clarity of presentation. The winner will be selected on the conclusion of the Forum and announced at the SERC Sponsor Research Review the following day. The winner will receive a trophy and grant in the amount $1,500. Congratulations to 2017 SERC Doctoral Student Forum- Best Student Paper recipient, Davina Rizzo from Stevens Institute of Technology.
A networking reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres will immediately follow the event. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us!
Events are free to Academia and Government participants; Industry attendees are charged a nominal fee.
